Toshiba equium L40 17M (BAD_POOL_HEADER)

Hi i have a toshiba laptop and cannot boot up as get a blue screen sayin

BADPOLLHEADER

Then the

technical information:

*STOP: (0X00000019 (0X00000022.0X00000000,0X00000000)

I cannot boot up in safe mode and am at a loss. Im not a wizz on computers so struggling massively.

please help.

I've just had the same problem. In my case it was caused by a powered USB hub, removing the hub solved the problem. This error is usually from faulty hardware OR faulty hardware Drivers.

dms thanks. i have nothin connected via usb or any other way and still problem remains sounds like going to be faulty hardware. how do i resolve this?

CAn you get to the F8 tools menu?

If so select command prompt and run chkdsk /f/r

fruit bat thank you for your response. i can run command promt and have tried

chkdsk /f/r

a received:

the type of file system is NTFS. Cannot lock current drive. Windows cannot run disk checking on this volume because it is write protected.

does this mean anything to you?

Try Select "Run" or "Search" depending on your operating system.

At the command prompt.

Type "Lock sys: off" to unlock c: drive .

If you are wanting to lock or unlock another drive then simply replace "sys" with the drive letter (i.e. Lock D: on).
