Thunderbird stopped working

I CAN use Gmail on line when I have to, but normally I like my emails both in/out to show on my XP(SP2)computer

Tbird was working very well and then suddenly it wouldn't play. I have lost all my contacts, and all incoming and outgoing mail. Just to add to the general joy, I have lost all my contacts, and all my settings.

I feel really stupid, but I just can't get it going again. (SENILITY is my new best friend......)

Gurus, can you help, please?

why have you not d/loaded sp3?

it may be the problem
