Password protect private Information

Hi I am looking for a way to password protect private information I have an old version of 2003 Onenote.

I see there are service packs 1 2 and 3 available up to XP. Although it may be better than nothing to use 2003 onenote without the service packs are there other ways to protect private information.

I don’t want anything complicated just a simple way to protect Information. OS Win7 using MS office 2010 starter.
