USB 3

As I look to replace my laptop, I notice that in most cases now at least one of the USB ports is version 3. All my peripherals are currently USB2, although that might change in future. Can I connect a USB2 peripheral to a USB3 port and expect it to perform normally (though obviously at USB2 speed)?

Yes

USB3 has extra pins but is backward compatible with USB2 so your old devices will work at USB2 speed.

Yes, the USB 3.0 port will be backward compatible with USB 2.0
