Mobile Photos to PC

I am trying to connect my mobile camera to my PC to down load photos The PC does not have Bluetooth so I am attempting to connect via cable, one end of which plugs into the mobile and the other end is on a USB. Now for the problem, when I plug the USB into a socket I get the familiar Ding Dong but no icon appears in Computer, where do I go from here?

Which mobile? You normally have to have the appropriate software on the pc.

Hi!. The mobile is a Nokia don't know the model. I had a Disk that came with the cable and I installed as per instructions.

You should have Nokia software on the PC somewhere. Worthwhile checking.

I get this sometimes with my mobile in that it isn't recognised. Try a different USB port.

On phone memory or card memory?

Can you transfer (on phone) from one mem to other and then use card reader on PC?

I agree with *Fruit Bat/\0/*. Far easier to use a card reader with phone's SD(or whatever) card. £5 in ASDA (eg)
