Ubuntu 11.10 wireless problem

I've installed Ubuntu 11.10 on an unused netbook to play around with. When searching for wireless networks, it brings up a list of available networks, but none of them are mine. It's not a hidden network as other wireless devices pick it up just fine. Does anyone know what may be causing this problem?

Thanks in advance

Try telling it your network and see if it will connect. I've no idea why it shouldn't see yours, unless you're using an encryption protocol it doesn't recognise.
