Coincidence or strange fault?

Three times my wife has logged onto our local library website to renew her book.
Three times our Internet has crashed. I am on Virgin media cable broadband.
Its OK after I have reset it by turning off the power for a bit.
I can't see how it could do it. Its not as if its a dodgy website or anything.
Anyone else had this problem?

It could be a Java script causing trouble. I have had that on some sites, I usually change browsers and everything is OK.

funny you say that, my wife experienced the same problem last week to renew her books and with us the library website crashed rather virgin.

Have heard it might be my router - protecting me from what it thinks are nasties.
I will try it with the laptop plugged directly into the Virgin modem.
Thanks for the responses.
