Random Screen Freezes

Recently been suffering from random screen freezes. Seems to happen totally randomly and with different programs running.
Symptoms are: Screen freezes; mouse pointer slows right down and then stops. Mouse and keyboard don't work and eventually the screen goes blank.
I have tried newest video drivers and even some older ones. Done a complete fresh re-install of Windows 7 32 bit and 64 bit. All fans inside the case are working and no high temps shown.
I have used Seagate tools that report the HDD is OK even under the extended test.
I have a feeling that it may be the graphics card failing.
Is there anyway of establishing what was happening just prior to the screen freeze?

Not really sure how to read event viewer. All the crashes appear to reported as Kernel Power, but further investigation reveals this is relates to the rebooting after the freeze.

Just happened again, after a reboot the graphics card isn't recognised in device manager. I think my initial thought about the graphics card may have been correct!

I've removed the graphics card and now using the on board graphics. I will update on progress.

After three days no crashes and system is stable. It would seem to be a faulty graphics card was the problem.
