Hi all

I need some advice on NAS storage please.

Can NAS storage appear just as another drive on my pc? And will I be able to use my carbonite online backup to save my data from it?

Any help would be great.

Many thanks.

Can NAS storage appear just as another drive on my pc?: Yes.

And will I be able to use my carbonite online backup to save my data from it?: Not according to this Click here

it says "Note Carbonite does not back up files located on an external hard drive."

How to backup a NAS drive

When messing with Macrium Reflect and Easeus Todo, I think I found that both would make Images over the Network but only Macrium would restore.

And then you had to get the share address setup manually and maybe it was only the WinPE Recovery disc that worked. I can't remember.

I was trying different backup scenarios from my PC to Laptop with its ext USB hard drive (I don't have a NAS drive)

As mentioned in the link above, it may be easier just whipping the drive(s) out of your NAS and putting them in a USB caddy for making backups.
