Video Download Conversion

I would like to know what I need to do to convert a downloaded video so that I can copy it to a CD or DVD so that I could watch it on my television using my DVD player, can anyone help please?

What file format is your download?

e.g.

.flv

.mp4

.avi

Rather than mess about with convertors just try dvd flick its free and will convert just about anything and burn to dvd Just add the files DVD Flick

Thank you Fruit Bat /\O/\ for your reply, the file formats are the ones you mention .flv .mp4 and .avi and thank you eedcam for the DVD Flick link. I am grateful to you both for your replies.
