I can't get my ipodtouch to go online

How can I get my ipod touch to recognise my TalkTalk network? At the moment the T-T option is locked and it tries to connect of btfon.com. The TalkTalk option is locked and doesn't accept the password which I thought I was using. There is a page at http://help.talktalk.co.uk/app/answers/detail/a_id/1905, but it doesn't help much - all the other connections to the router are working well. The apple site doesn't help much either. Any ideas much appreciated.

I should add that I just want to go online for information pages, NOT to download anything costing money!
