how to dissable wi fi

I have a Wireless-N ADSL2+ Gateway but the wi fi is not performing as it should and I have used it now as a modem and connected a belkin wifi through it, but now I need to close the wifi down all together

You should be able to do it in the admin pages of the router.

It's a Linksys or Cisco Gateway, could be WAG160N or TG582n or WAG300n, seems that there are a few versions of 'Wireless-N ADSL2+ Gateway'. Have a look at the modem/router for details.
