How do I get my Windows Media player to play mp4 movie file? I have got the code-lite pack downloaded and still it won't play. Thanks

Download and use the Free VLC media player instead of Windows Media Player
VLC is a free and open source cross-platform multimedia player and framework that plays most multimedia files as well as DVD, Audio CD, VCD, and various streaming protocols.
VLC can play just about everything you chuck at it. Even opens and plays .iso's

Uninstall K-Lite. Make sure it is uninstalled by rebooting.
If Win 7 then, Win 7 codects
If Vista then, Vista codects
Be aware that K-Lite is not compatible with the new Windows formats.

Thanks all for responses. I am using klite codec standard and it works fine with wins7. I also have VLC as an alternative player. Wins7 Codecs caused problems though so uninstalled and using the above as stated. Cheers

Wmp12 fully supports mp4. You do not need any additional codecs.
It also supports the variations - m4v; mp4v.
Previous versions of Wmp did not support this format.
