Shutting-down Norton Internet Security

How can I shut-down NIS completely? If I disable the AV and the firewall I still get an occasional pop-up saying that Norton is running background tasks. I've even been told that it is doing a full system scan in the background. I can't find a Quit button.

csqwared - what you state about NIS used to be correct but the later versions are very good.

I would suggest the best policy is to remove Norton altogether as it is extremely system hungry and install one of the free security progs (e.g. Comodo but there are others). Since NIS is a bit of a swine to remove it's best to use Symantecs un-instaler Norton uninstall
