X-Fi Sound card query on Windows 7

A while ago I bought the OEM version of a Soundblaster X-F1 sound card (below)

I have a dual-boot PC (with Windows 7 and Vista) and Vista recognises the sound card properly as in Device Manager, the driver is listed as 'Creative SB X-Fi' but on Windows 7 it is merely listed as 'High Definition Audio' which is strange ?

I don't think it is using onboard sound on Windows 7 as it is disabled in the BIOS so I'm just wondering if it is just another name for the X-Fi ?

Did you load a Windows 7 version of the driver on the W7 'side' of your machine? I think I'm right in saying, you need to install drivers for both operating systems in a dual boot configuration.

ian in Northampton - no I didn't run a Windows 7 version on the W7 'side' of my PC.

I have not run a dual-boot system before and will try it, cheers.

Chronus - thanks for the links
