Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-interface

Does anyone know what this is? My security/maintenance is constantly telling me that mine is not working properly. I've tried the usual "update", without success. The only other suggested option is to "disable", which I'm reluctant to do, as I haven't a clue as to its purpose. Am I better to "disable" or just leave it "not working properly"?

Thanks for that. Put it out of its misery, and nothing crashed.

Teredo "worm" is actually a snail type mollusc that I last saw boring holes in underwater logs in British Columbia. You may have some of these holes in your roof timbers, they are about an inch in diameter and harmless out of water. Very common around waters near Seattle so that's probably how it was used in IT parlance.
