Each time I open my webrowser in IE8 the history shows an item for edpn.ebay (edpn.ebay.com) which if opened shows a link to: http://edpn.ebay.com/engagement?INIT=307132925445|8085331|71063920382266|0|10|0|2|http://www.talktalk.co.uk if I click the link it opens a text style message. If I delete the item from history it reinstates itself. Can anyone throw any light on this and how to prevent it happening. Is it a virus?

sorry, that wasn't put too well. I'll try again
Yes it sounds like a Trojan/virus/Hijack but it seems it is something called 'cross-scripting' something to do with the pages you have visted and the cookies they have set on your pc.
Clear all your cookies and empty the Internet pages history, then close IE and open it up again. I think that gets rid of it.

Thanks for the tip. Tried it and it clears but reappears as soon as I open my Talktalk Homepage. I have now noticed that it doesnt appear with any other web page so it is probably embedded in the Talktalk homepage. I am changing my homepage to see if it stops it.
