Connecting ethernet to my satelite Rx

I have just bought a satellite RX. To take advantage of catch up TV it has to be connected to the web via its RJ45 connector. This means 20 m of cable around the sitting room, or something else. I have WIFI so can this be used in someway. Was thinking of using a dongle then I realised it would have no volts to power it. I suppose one of those systems that use the mains wiring would do but don't want to spend too much money if I can help it( wife wasn't to keen on the Sat RX)
