Backup problem

When I backup my desktop on to an external drive, it ok for about 7gb... then fails. I thought it may be a dodgy external backup drive, but I tested on my laptop and it backed up fine!

Any ideas please!

I guess it must be a setting on my desktop or something.

Regards Rosalie

Check for bad sectors on the partitions you are backing up.

eg Right click C:

Properties/Tools Tab/Check for errors.

Any partitions in use will be checked on re-boot. May take up to an hour, say.

Thank you for your reply! i tried that, but with no joy.. any other ideas? The strange thing is that my video files are saved on another external hard drive.. with no problem.
