I have a custom built pc with 2 hard drives of which the first one is the master and is 64gb ssd.It is partitioned with my os and recovery and almost full and problem is that my second hard drive of 2tb has no drive letter and I can't seem to initialise it.It does not show up in my bios and seeing as it is healthy and shows up in my device management and I only know the basics I am stumped as to how to initialise it.Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I think if it was me I would delete it and create a nice new shiny Primary Partition in the Unallocated space.

I'm also wondering how the drive was made to a recovery partition if installing from a Windows disc?

So I should swap the sata ports around then and will I then be able to initialise disk 2?I want the ssd only for my os as it is a ssd.

It hasn't got a drive letter and I don't like Type=Recovery

Did you try Partition Wizard?

Install and run. Right click the 2TB partition and Modify/Set as Primary. Right click again and Change Letter

Click Apply (Top Left)

You can swap if you want. But seeing as it's booting OK, I'd leave it just now.

You may need a Right Click Modify/Unhide. Apply as well.

I'm not sure.

Delete the Partition then and create a new Primary Partition.

(Right click delete. Apply. Right click Unallocated. Create.)

If you get an option to Quick Format, take it (you can run chkdsk later). Full Format will take hours.

Partition Wizard is perfectly safe from that link. False positive with Norton.
