Hi, Keep getting the following message when trying to open anything (this is being done on the new laptop) "C:\Program Files... The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it" What has happened? Using Acer Aspire 5315 with Windows Vista SP2

Depending how new it is you might have a system restore to restore to. See if you can. What optimizing programs do you use, if any?

if it's this one, link see if you can restore the registry it optimized. You should have a reg backup within the program. If so then restore, close the program and reboot. See if that helps.
