Sending links in Emails

How do I send a web link in emails. I'm using BT yahoo mail and Firefox. I'm sure with my previous webmail I just used to type in a web address and it became an active link. Not so now. Do I have to activate it somehow. (Must admit, I'm not too keen on this BT yahoo mail setup!)

Are you sure it doesn't change into a link when you send it? Try sending yourself an email with a link and see if it arrives already converted for you.

Better still copy and paste the URL so the recipient has to do the same to get to the web site, much safer than having a 'live' link in emails,

Thanks Octal. Yes, I sent it to my hotmail address, and from there back to the BT Yahoo one and it is not "live"
rdave13. I'm sure you're right. The person I'm sending to is very new to computing and I'm not sure he is confident yet with copying and pasting. Guess he'll have to learn like we all did! Thanks for replies.

jason.p,
All the more reason not to send a link, in an email, to the person.
