If there is access to internet, then yes the Kindle will be able to download books. They will just need to set up an Amazon account.

The amazon website FAQs are brilliant.

Select Kindle Store drop down then look top right for a link.

I won a Kindle 3G in the summer and sold it on eBay.

I quite regret that now. Fantastic product and I believe it will work Worldwide.

The Wi-Fi version would need a Wi-Fi connection but the 3G would connect direct almost worldwide 3G map free of charge
