P4 PC switching off

Have dual boot with XP & Win 7 and this problem happening in both OSystems. Was intermittent when son playing youtube vids but now switch off happening on boot up every time, half way through either windows loading.

Have swapped in PSU, checked cards all seated, taken out graphics card and used on-board VGA but same happens.

Looks like a heat problem but all fans working fine and does same with sides of case off. also last night ran some GPU and CPU stress tests to see if I could recreate problem but they didnt!

So now turning off every time.

Could it be issue with CPU seating? Or maybe faulty memory? (or perhaps the mobo is faulty.

thanks for help.

try memory next

if you have more than one stick remove one at a time and see if it will boot.

Wouldn't hurt to clean and reapply thermal paste to the CPU.
