Hi, My friend wants to perform a fresh install of XP Home on his laptop for which he has to buy an external DVD drive as it's a notebook.

Please can someone point me to a decent page that explains how to perform a clean install? And any recommendations on a cheap external DVD drive too?

Thank you in advance.

What make and model. Should be a Recovery Partition.

Needs to save all personal data/files/folders/emails(?) etc to Flash Stick first or buy a CD/DVD Rewriter or ext USB Hard Drive HDD.

A factory reset if available will set everything back to the day the machine was delivered.

Fruit Bat /\0/\'s first link simplyguides.net this link will work.

(the underscores caused the italics in Fruit Bat /\0/\'s post so it didn't paste correctly)
