HP Laptop with no sound

I have a HP DV6700 laptop which is 4 years old now and over the years kept losing sound but after a update or wait of a few days would fix it's self.

But a few months ago lost sound for good no amounts of updates or driver updates makes any differents.

But I can get sound if I plug in my earphones.

Hope someone out there has some good ideas.

I guess you must be on Vista. I have 3 places on my Compaq.

Start Search 'Volume' (Windows Volume Mixer)

Start Search 'Audio' (IDT Audio Control Panel/Graphic Equaliser)

Start Search 'Sound' (Control Panel Sound)

See what comes up and nothing muted.

Or you could uninstall driver from Device Manager and let Windows re-install on reboot.
