How do i make Google my main search engine

I want to make Google my main search engine in Windows 7 but dont know how to do it.

Assume that you are using IE9 for searching on the internet. Click on the settings button top right. Choose Internet Options - then on the General Tab you will see Search and change search default , click on settings to the right of it then on Google under search providers right click and set as default.

For anyone who may be having trouble finding Google on the IE9 Search Gallery page. Microsoft appears to have removed it from the list for the UK but it is still available on the US gallery page.
