converting .fxm files

I recently tried to open a .fxm file (WinFax originated), using Adobe Acrobat. Needless to say, this didn't work. However, in the process, the PC has now put an Adobe icon in front of every .fxm file on the PC, even though the .fxm extensions are still there.

I managed to get a copy of miniview.exe, which should allow all .fxm files to be viewed (and then saved as .pdf's) but each document opens as just a grey sheet.

Does anyone know how I might recover these files please?

What is your OS? It sounds as if your default file allocation for fxm has been changed and you need to change it back to WinFax.

Thanks for the response. My OS is XP Pro but I don't have Winfax installed on this PC.

I think I may have a copy of 'miniview.exe' on an old PC somewhere, that may be my best bet.

Cheers
