Laptop boot problem

Acer Aspire 5251. Has a boot problem. Every few days when the button is pressed the light comes on for about two seconds and then goes outn again, and nothing else happens. Have discovered that if I remove and replace the battery it fixes things.

Grateful if anyone has any ideas as to how to cure it permanently.

Check battery connections. Possibly when you move laptop, something in the power section unseats?.

Clean your battery contacts. Clean the battery's metal contacts with rubbing alcohol on a damp cloth. Clean contacts increase the energy efficiency. see here
