Sideways movie on memory stick

Hello, I have a memory stick with some video on it, which was taken from an ipod. The sound and picture of the video on the memory stick when plugged into a pc is fine. Except when the movie plays it is in a horizontal state instead of vertical. The only comfortable way to view it would be to turn the pc monitor through 90 degrees. Is there any way that this issue can be corrected. I somehow suspect not. But this day and age nothing is impossible, is it? Thank you in advance of any sugestions.

Use Windows Live Movie Maker.
1) Fire up Windows Movie Maker. Then under Tasks, import your camera video. 2) Drag the clip into the storyboard. 3) Under Tools, choose video effects, move the slider til you get to one of the rotate functions. Drag the effect over your clip. 4) Save off the clip.
