Windows Updates

I have not had an internet connection at home since May. Shortly I will get connected. I have two questions: 1. Will all the Windows XP updates since May automatically download? 2. Are there any special precautions to take when I connect for the first time. I will, of course, do a full backup to an external disk and disconnect it afterwards.

  1. Yes if you have your windows updates configured to download automatically.

2.You should have your Security software installed prior to connecting to the Internet - ie: Firewall, Anti-Virus.
