scansoft pop-up

I have just loaded the software disc for my old Canon 8600F scanner into my new laptop, this included Scangear, Canoscan Toolbox, Arcsoft Photostudio, Presto PageManager, Scansoft OmniPage SE, and Adobe RGB. I am now getting a pop-up asking to allow SSBkgdUpdate.exe to "make changes to the computer". Is this safe to say yes? Is PageManager worth retaining?
