panasonic tv to dell laptop

Can anyone tell me which cable i will need to connect a dell XPS laptop to a panasonic TH42 digital hd tv. Also what setiings will i have to change on the laptop thanks derek

Many XPS models
if yours has a HDMI output use a HDMI cable you shoul not have to change any settings.

Thanks fruit bat for your reply. The laptop does have a hdmi output and the tv has a hdvi input, the only problem is that the panasonic tv handbook states that this connection is not suitable for pc to tv connection and the input shold be via the D-sub 15pin connector. derek

if you have a HDMI cable try it.
other wise you need a VGA cable and audio cable (can come combined)

Hi again fruit bat, have tried the hdmi laptop to tv but it just displays "no signal" it looks as if i will need a lead with hdmi and a D-sub 15 pin. thanks again for your help derek
