Monitor and PC Compatibility

I have an HP desktop PC 6316UK with an HP2229H screen. I also have a 10 year old Evesham PC with an LG Flatron Monitor. I need to acces some old stuffm on the Evesham but the monitor has packed up. Can I connect my HP monitor to the Evesham temporarily while I transfer old files to an external hard drive. I don't want to try this if it might damage the HP screen. Thanks

Hi

It should be fine - you may get a poor screen resolution which you can either accept whilst you are transferring the files or spend a little time trying to improve. The graphics card in the older pc may not have enough memory to run much better than 800x600.
