Sorry to re open this question. I am fairly clear about how to wire up an extention but I need two and they go in different directions. Can I take both from the user terminal in the master socket or do I have to follow on from the first ext.

Thanks for that link, I have looked at various sites. Followed the instructions to the letter, nothing, couldn't see where I might have gone wrong. I think the problem is that the BT (outreach) master socket the engineers fitted only having three terminals throws you a bit, especialy when the drop down cable to the master socket only has two cables. Nevertheless I followed the instructions and it didn't work. So it looks like I will have to call in the experts. All I wanted to do was elliminate the possability that it was cable my side of the master socket that is causing the internet connection to drop off. It is not as bad now as it was but it is still frustrateing when you are half way through banking or searching. Horses for courses I think.

regards

I use a BT plug to 2 way adapter, with a very similar set up to yours, works fine.
