DVD drive on laptop

Please can anyone tell me why my DVDs don't fit on the tray? Is there something I'm supposed to do to the overlarge centre wheel? This is preventing discs from slotting down on to the tray. Actually it's a strange-looking tray , with all the inside works showing. Is it OK? My PC is a Dell Vostro laptop.dv

The instructions (Vostro 1500) ClickHere say: "Place the disc, label side up, in the center of the tray and snap the disc onto the spindle. "

Thanks Lotvic. I gritted my teeth and pushed and finally slotted on a DVD. You know with new gear you get worried you're going to damage it! Much obliged.
