BT Vision Box

As I already have BT Broadband, I am tempted by the BT Vision Box. However, as I understand it, the only way of connecting the Box to the Home Hub is by ethernet cable or Powerline Adapter, wireless not being an option. Why would that be? In my case I would have to use the Powerline Adapters on two separate rings. Does anyone have experience of whether the Adapters work well on separate rings in practice - I appreciate that they should in theory.

Would HomePlugs work on different mains circuits in my house (rings) ?
Yes, but the rings or circuits (such as upstairs and downstairs) mains must be on the same fuse box / consumer box.
