I am replacing my faulty hard drive and looking for a direct replacement, the faulty one is: western digital caviar green 1TB sata 64mb wd10ears.I have seen a direct replacement except that it has sata 2 on it,would that be OK ?

Yes. it has the same connections its just faster but it is backwards compatible so you should have no problems.
