Cannot type in some Excel cells

Hi

Im using MS Excel (Office 2007) for a simple list/ data project. In some cells I cannot type any information. Its just phone numbers, email addresses etc. I dont have any formulas or anything like that, just simple lists. However when I type, it shows up at the top as Im typing, but I cant see it in the actual cell. I cant understand this and it's a bit frustrating!

thanks

h

Silly question but the font colour hasn't somehow become set as the same as the cells' background colour, so that the content becomes invisible?
