Are all cooling fans running, and is the pc free from dust etc? Not forgetting the PSU.

As I see that you have also posted in the Games Forum where you have mentioned the games that are giving you problems, Fallout new Vegas and Crysis.
Fallout new Vegas unfortunately is a buggy game, I am assuming that you got it through Steam, if so right click on the game title on the left of the steam games library page and scroll down to properties. Then Local Files then verify integrity of game cache. If you did not get the game through Steam then make sure that the game is fully patched. Patches
You do not mention whether you are playing Crysis 1 or 2. Either way you will not be able to play at high settings with your graphics card.
Make sure your graphics card drivers are up to date.
