When I try to create a restore point on laptop, I get error.....

Shadow copy provider has an unexpected error while trying to process the specified operation (0x8004230F) please try again.

I have virgin backup and storage running on the laptop can this be the problem?

Fruit Bat /\0/\ Resolution number two also looks a bit to complicated for my limited PC skills.

To get System Restore to Work, you need to Turn it off, This will lose all Restore points. Then turn it back on and creare a New Point

Thanks Have I put a bigger drive in your machine No I have not.

Only USB devices is mouse, removed it but that did not help.

woodchip I tried that also, no luck

This and another problem (Cannot create system restore), which I also posted on here, arose after running Tune up Utilities 2011 software I accepted lots of suggestions from it to clean and speed up my PC, maybe a coincidence but Im now afraid to use it again.

I did a clean install of windows yesterday and now PC is doing all it should, have created a restore point no problem.
