Problem adding additional memory

I have just added an additional 2GB of memory (DDR2) to bring up to 4GB Operation was simple enough ie - added 2 x 1GB to available slots When I reboot it 'freezes' at the opening motherboard 'splash' screen. DEL & TAB to run setup and bios on this screen is also frozen
Help!

Remove one stick at a time and see if it works to trace which stick is faulty.
You may also find a simple remove nd refit solves the problem if it is not fully seated the first time.

The other thing that sometimes helps, dunno why, is to swop the sticks between the two slots.
