Acer Aspire 8930G laptop memory upgrade

Hi, I bought an Acer 8930g 3 years ago and now wish to add more memory. I've checked various forums which state that 8930G motherboard can take 6gb max. My laptop was purchased as 8930G but when I run CPU-Z and other similar programs the mobo is listed as 8930, which can only take 4gb max. Can anyone help?

Go here and use the scanner, you don't necessarily need to buy from them but it should give you an idea of what you can install. Crucial

Thanks. Crucial no help. It states 4gb max but I know people have now added up to 6gb with no problems even tho manufacturer claims 4gb max. I'm just trying to find help with mobo information. i.e Do I trust the sticker on the laptop or the Scanner program.
