Sata ATA-300 3.5 High Speed Connection to a iMac

Hi,

Probably and easy one but what is the best way to get the fastest connection between a SATA 3.5 inch drive to an iMac?

At the moment i am using a dock via USB but i was hoping i could connect through the firewore 800 port...
