After going up the loft and finding a massive amount of forgotten CD's, i want to put them on the computer. Question is, when i rip them, i'd rather now put them on my WD hard drive than on my computer hard drive. I went into WMP and changed where they will rip to, but it asks what file type. I'd neve thought about it before, but would changing it from WMP to MP3 be a better choice for playing elsewhere.... Also, what gives the better quality? I also noticed the 'Audio Quality' bar. The purist in me, says put it to the highest quality, but is it really worth it?
Thanks in advance.

Spacewise Mp3 will get you much much more files in a smaller space than .Wav . as for the quality its a matter of whether you can tell the difference. Notwithsatanding the quality of some CD's is not always that great anyway
