FF6 & 7 has problems viewing web pages

Windows 7 - FF7 - IE9

I have a new PC only 2-3 months old, but I dont think the current problem I'm having is anything to do with that.

I've been using FF for a couple of years, as my main browser and I've never experienced any problems such as those I was getting with FF6 and now I'm now getting using FF7 with W7. However, although initially I thought my problem was with W7, I am now sure it isn't.

Because I tried my other browser IE9 and have no problem. That's when I decided to update to FF7 but it's still the same.

I'm stumped, so here's a link showing a web page using IE9, notice the headers for each of the 6 middle sections...Click Here

This is with FF7, compare the same sections...Click Here You'll notice how the lines of type are jumbled together? On some websites images/photos are displaced.

It would appear to be a problem with Firefox on your system as others do not get the same snag. Uninstall and re-install of Firefox may be a solution or you could try creating a new profile Firefox profiles

They all found Trojans is a bad sign as they maybe restarting every time you you switch your computer on.

Maybe try running one or two of them again just to see if they are back or not.

All I am getting is a full page advert for PC Specialist on your last click here is it that which you are getting all of the time.

I've tried the easiest way first 'Changing my Profile'. Afterwards I checked on various sites and the lettering wasn't bunching or overlapping, as it was before. PCA opened as usual, I clicked on login, then save for a small advert 'Top Left' corner the rest of the page is grey and blank, but for a line of type, bottom left, which says...

'Waiting for adfarm.mediaplex.com'. I get fed up waiting.

So I click the back button and I'm in PCA. I opened my (this) thread and now, down the left side of the page there's an advert, that wasn't there before!

I'm sending this with IE9 of which I have no problems. To be honest, if it wasn't for IE9's 'SEARCH' & 'URL' bars or lack of them I'd be using this and ditching FF.

Ok so I created a new profile and as I said above, when I try to login to PCA I get this...Click Here

I then uninstalled FF but kept personal data. Everything went belly up and I was having even worse trouble with IE9. In the end I decided to reinstall FF. But the only way I could do this, was by logging into my Yahoo account, via a link on my desktop. I downloaded and installed FF and am now back where I was before and still unable to log into PCA exept through IE9.

My thoughts in this are that the problem must lie with Windows 7, else why would IE9 kick up when I uninstalled FF?

Your thoughts on this matter gentlemen would be most appreciated.

Woolwell can't have read my message, second post on this thread, I'm still losing all pictures on FF and I've made new profiles to no avail, like others, switching same site to IE9 solves the problem but I like FF for many other things so I've reconciled to running both and using switche engine to go over.

Have you tried uninstalling FF and totally clearing it from your PC. rebooting, then reinstalling it?

I think that will be the next thing I'll try. After much fiddling around with FF this morning, I've at last managed to stop words jumbling together on websites. However, with every plus there (or so it seems) has to be a minus. Because one again I can no longer 'Copy & Paste'.

Ooh and I forgot to mention (what some might call) the good bit, I am also able to log back into PCA.

Graphicool, did you do a complete uninstall?

That's a bit drastic, if I do that I'll have to photograph screens of addon, etc etcto get everything back. Do you get all pictures/photos showing?

I can't believe that there isn't something that can bring them back, I've done everything the Mozillazine suggested and still no photos on e-Bay for example and changing to IE they all show.

hi Muergo

"Graphicool, did you do a complete uninstall?"...Not quite. Yes, I did uninstall it and cleaned, all references of it from my PC. However, I kept my personal data, just in case. Then, almost straight away, because the way IE was acting up I reinstalled FF.

it has since transpired, thanx to buteman that my problem might have been caused by a Trojan...Click Here
