how do i tell it to delete cookies please cannot find the option in version 7

Tools - Clear Recent History and check cookies. Make sure anything else is unchecked if you only want cookies deleted/

Another option,
Tools>Options>Privacy>>>>a number of choices offered,Privacy Mode,Custom Settings etc.

Keep until I close Firefox on the dropdown bar then everything that you have ticked will be removed when Firefox is closed.
That is under Privacy.
It does mean that you have to sign in every time you start Firefox but I prefer it that way. or click on show cookies and remove them that way.

it was hitting the custom button that put me right when suggested by daz60
