My printer has stopped printing in black. Haved replaced the cartridge and shows as full but will not print in black even when doing test page etc. Could it be print head and if so what do I do. Running Windows 7 ultimate. Have no problem printing in colour.

Have you cleared the Air Holes in the Cart before fitting it? Not just pulling the Sellotape off but check the holes with a pin, if air cannot get into the cart, ink cannot get out. plus the cart may be a dud

not done that but don't think that is the prob as it stopped working with previous cartridge which was half full.

Hi,

The following may work: remove all the ink supplies. Remove the printhead and soak it for about 5 minutes in 0.5" of very hot water. Gently blot the printhead on a soft damp paper towel to remove the excess water, then replace in the printer and then reinstall the ink supplies.
