I see on your duplicate post in Win 7 forums that the suggestions in the link I posted didn't work?

Hello,
Sorry for the late reply,
I will follow the suggestions when I get my brothers laptop to use, this way i can view the link that you suggested.
By the way doing a system restore would delete everything? correct?

As this is a rebuild , I assume you have the operating system disk.
Put the disk in the drive, select the option to boot from DVD /CD Follow the intall system through to until you get to the repair option and select that.Provided the disk is not corrupt, it should rebuild your system, without losing any data stored in other programs.
