Netgear WNDR4000

I have recently installed a brand new netgear WNDR4000 router with all the correct software and the labels on the router confirm it is a WNDR4000. The installation and router works fine except I am puzzled to why the router appears in my devices as a WNR3500L I telephoned Netgear who told me to ignore this. I was wondering has anyone else noticed this issue when they look in control panel devices.

Will
